Detailer/Drafting

Major Job Functions:
- Produce accurate shop detail drawings, erection plans, and bill of materials in a cost effective manner within budgeted estimates.
- Interpret and incorporate accurately customer designs and specification for shop drawings to meet quality requirements
- Establish a material list identifying grade, size and quantity for each job
- Deliver drawings according to customer schedule
- Resolve special conditions and problems concerning non-standard connections prior to starting details
- Review contact drawings for all requirements on a project
- Start and maintain a record for all designs and drawings in current drawing log
- Compare estimate and drawings in current specifications and drawings
- Distribute design drawing to necessary personnel
- Log revision drawings and issue to QA and production
- Produce anchor bot pans, erection, of a project
- Verify fabrication drawings on hard copy, not computer
- Transmit drawings to customer for approval
Other Related Functions:
- Determine number of sets of drawings required for fabrication
- Contact architect-engineer concerning RFI’s, concepts, errors, or emissions
- Answer shop drawing questions during production
- Answer field questions after shipped to job site
Minimum Requirements:
- Training in AutoCAD, Autodesk, Inventor and Autodesk Vault as well as Microsoft Office software
- Associates degree or B.S. in related discipline
